Armed Attorneys Richard Hayes and Leslie Cross discuss a major Second Amendment victory after the Department of Justice backed away from defending the federal ban on carrying firearms in ordinary United States Post Offices—for members of Firearms Policy Coalition and Second Amendment Foundation.
The case challenged the federal criminal statute and USPS regulation that prohibit carrying firearms on postal property. Applying the Supreme Court’s Bruen decision, the federal court ruled that the ban is unconstitutional as applied to members of FPC and SAF inside ordinary post offices and on surrounding postal property. The court later clarified that the injunction extends to all current and future members of both organizations.
