The Solana price has been hit hard with the ongoing volatility following yesterday’s FOMC meeting. SOL USD price is down -5% overnight, falling to $131. As of now, it is holding steady above $130, and the community hopes that the Solana Breakpoint conference in the UAE, which kicks off today, can provide a boost to the chart.
Heads of multiple Solana ecosystem projects will speak at the Breakpoint event today, alongside representatives from Bitwise, Coinbase, Debridge, KYD Labs, and many more. Various members of the UAE government will also speak, including His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the UAE.
What to Expect from Solana Breakpoint 2025?
Over 6,000 attendees are at the two-day Solana Breakpoint conference in Abu Dhabi this week, which kicked off today and runs until December 13.
Solana Mobile is launching its SKR token in January, introducing a new asset designed to power ownership, incentives, and activity across its growing mobile ecosystem. The token will have a total supply of 10Bn, with 30% reserved for airdrops and unlocks. There will be a more in-depth breakdown of the token launch at Breakpoint.
Pye Finance has secured a $5M seed round led by Variant and Coinbase Ventures to build an on-chain marketplace for time-locked Solana staking positions. The project aims to make locked stake tradable and easier to package into fixed-term products.

With Andrew Allen, the Solana Product Lead at Coinbase, speaking at Breakpoint, there is a strong chance that more information on the Coinbase and Solana Labs-backed Pye Finance project will get some airtime.
A roundup of other expected announcements at the UAE event today includes the Firedancer performance upgrade, with a live demo showcasing faster Solana validator throughput and lower latency. Debut of confidential transfers and privacy features, likely via new “confidential transfer” tooling built for institutional users.
Institutional-grade infrastructure stacks launch (including custody, staking, and compliance tools), enabling real-world money flows. A rollout of the Solana ID wallet identity feature, which will likely be triggered by pre-Breakpoint free minting via MetaMask.

Crypto Twitter analyst @JamesEastonUK posted a 1H SOL/USD chart on X, showing a tight trading range since early November, with the price remaining mostly between $128 and $144.

is trading within. $126 is a strong support zone for SOL, while $150 has long been a significant resistance level. For a clear direction, SOL USD needs to either close above $150 and flip it to support or lose $126.
Until either price point is breached, Solana will remain within this range and likely liquidate both long and short positions amid wide-ranging volatility.
This type of setup typically indicates indecision, where buying and selling pressure are nearly equal. It also hints that a strong move could come once the range finally breaks in either direction.
As per Coingecko data, Solana’s market cap is around $73Bn, with roughly $7.3Bn in daily spot trading volume. The token trades near $131 at the time of writing and is down nearly -6% on the day.
Solana is showing its first signs of strength after several quiet weeks, and the latest chart from James Easton hints at a possible shift in direction. Bullish announcements from the Solana Breakpoint event over the next few days could provide the spark to send the Solana price back above $150 and toward $200 in 2026.
