Katy Flosi, Wife of CMSAF, Dies

Katy Flosi, wife of Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force David A. Flosi, died unexpectedly Sept. 20 from medical complications, the service’s senior enlisted leader announced in a letter to the force.

Describing his wife as “a cherished soul, universally loved for her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit,” CMSAF Flosi wrote: “Our family is heartbroken. We will heal, and I appreciate your kindness as we do.”

According to a bio with the Air Force Aid Society, Katy Flosi was a professional ballerina from 1992-1994. The couple married in 1997. She enjoyed camping, cooking, and listening to podcasts. She is survived by her husband and their three children.

“David and I have been married for 27 years,” Katy Flosi said a year ago, at AFA’s 2024 Air, Space & Cyber Conference. “He proposed to me the night before he went into basic training, and said, “Just please don’t send me a dear John letter until I’ve graduated.’ He’s like, ‘Just wait till I finish.’ So we’ve been in this together forever, and that’s when I became a military spouse and learned that [other] military spouses are really our best resource.”
