Shakur Stevenson was all business during his faceoff with opponent William Zepeda following a pre-fight press conference in New York.
Stevenson defends his WBC lightweight title in the main event, which takes place in New York City on July 12.
The undefeated 27-year-old fighter from New Jersey looks to make waves with another standout performance with hopes that a win could land him an even bigger fight in the future. Zepeda could have something to say about that as he looks for a statement win of his own after putting together an impressive 33-0 record while also becoming the interim WBC lightweight champion with a win over Tevin Farmer this past November.
Meanwhile, the co-main event staredown was a little spicier with the always animated Edgar Berlanga doing everything in his power to get under Hamzah Sheeraz’s skin when they got nose-to-nose on stage.
Berlanga continuously took aim at Sheeraz by using his hand like a gun — and when he didn’t get enough of a reaction, he actually escalated to a full on machine gun assault like he was replaying Scarface on stage.
The faceoff didn’t turn physical, however, with security intervening to pull the fighters apart before any kind of altercation could erupt.
