Demetrious Johnson Predicts Stamp Fairtex Will Soon Be A MMA World Champion

Stamp Fairtex has a date set with Ham Seo Hee for the ONE Interim Women’s Atomweight World Championship on September 1 at ONE Fight Night 14 and just received the biggest endorsement she could get.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, pound-for-pound legend and reigning ONE Flyweight World Champion Demetrious Johnson lauded Stamp’s growth as a mixed martial artist and stated he believes she will soon become the queen of the division.

After competing alongside the former two-sport World Champion, Johnson has gotten to see her growth up close and in person.

“Amazing growth from Stamp. Stamp is really big for the weight class, and strong. Not taking anything away from Alyse Anderson, but I felt that there was a huge size difference when I saw Anderson compared to Stamp,” Johnson told ONE.

As with any martial artist, Johnson still sees room for improvement for the Thai superstar. “Mighty Mouse” knows she is steadily improving her grappling but believes only top-tier wrestlers will be able to give her problems as she continues to develop.

“Stamp has done amazing [with] her development. I think she’s going to have to run into somebody who’s a very big, athletic wrestler [in order to face any] trouble. I don’t see anybody in ONE Championship that’s going to be able to beat her,” Johnson explained.

Stamp will be challenged by the charging South Korean. Ham is riding a nine-bout win streak into the title opportunity and is one of the sport’s most well-rounded and respected veterans.

But that does not change Johnson’s prediction for where Stamp will be at the final bell.

“I think she’ll probably be an [MMA] champion here soon,” Johnson said.
