SharpLink Gaming (SBET) posted a staggering $734.6 million net loss for 2025. $616.2 million of that figure was an “unrealized loss” (a decline in the value of assets they still hold) on the massive pile of Ethereum (ETH) they have accumulated. To understand SharpLink Gaming’s financial statement, you have to understand a specific quirk of corporate accounting called GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Under these rules, companies holding crypto assets often have to mark the value of those assets to the market price at the end of the reporting period.
