Kevin Lee reveals he needed jaw wired in first statement after brutal knockout loss at PFL 6

Kevin Lee appears to be pondering his fighting future after suffering a nasty knockout loss this past Friday, along with the injuries that came with it.

Lee made his PFL debut against highly touted Gadzhi Rabadanov in the main event of PFL 6. The bout served as a semifinal match for the lightweight world tournament. Rabadanov, who was a massive betting favorite heading it, smashed Lee’s face with punches for a little over a half a round before face-planting the former UFC fighter for a knockout.

Following the loss, Lee reacted to how it all went, questioning his ability to take punishment in the cage.

“I’m not a coward. At least I can say that I tried. I shot for the stars,” Lee wrote on Twitter. “My legs just aren’t what they used to be. I can’t absorb shots anymore and honestly I don’t know if it will come back.”

Lee also revealed that he suffered a jaw injury in the loss, which led to his law being wired.

It’s been a tough run for Lee, who was looked at as a fighter with limitless potential as a competitor, and a star. “Motown Phenom” has dropped four of his past six bouts, which includes stoppage losses to Charles Oliveira and Rinat Fakhretdinov, with the lone wins coming against Diego Sanchez for Eagle FC, and a regional scene finish for Lights Out Championship.

For Rabadanov, he advances to the championship match against Aflie Davis with the winner getting $500,000.
