Overview

This is the v0.18.4.0 release of the Monero software. This is a recommended release that fixes multiple daemon-related network vulnerabilities.

Some highlights of this release are:

Wallet: add background sync with just the view key (#8617)
Wallet: fix a potential sync issue during restore (#9601)
Wallet: flush confirm prompt before user input (#9657)
Daemon: reduce disk writes from 2 to 1 per transaction (#9740)
Daemon: fix a remote P2P crash vulnerability [reported by Kevin McSheehan]
Daemon: add configuration options to HTTP server, fix a remote RPC crash (#9775)
Daemon: fix temp fails causing alt blocks to be permanently invalid (#9400)
Daemon: allow comments in ban list file (#9616)
Daemon: fix daemon connection speed throttling incorrectly (#9460)
Daemon: fix --anonymous-inbound data leak (#9633)
Daemon: check for Windows NTFS compression (#9702)
Daemon: fix database size detection on Windows (#9705)
Daemon: update seed nodes (#9793)
RPC: add daemon-specific proxy support in set_daemon RPC call (#9590)
RPC: fix an issue where the wallet state does not save on close (#9615)
RPC: validate IP parameter in set_bans RPC call (#9703)
