“President Donald Trump “holds a commanding lead over the rest of the 2024 Republican presidential field in Iowa,” according to the Des Moines Register.
The Des Moines Register/NBC News Iowa Poll shows President Trump leading with 42 percent among likely Iowa caucusgoers — a 23 point lead over Ron DeSantis, who is at 19 percent.
The Des Moines Register noted that President Trump has a dominant lead among evangelical Republicans in Iowa. “
Des Moines Register: “And among evangelicals, an influential group in Iowa that’s often key to a caucus win, Trump leads with 47% who say he is their first choice for president. He’s followed by DeSantis, who gets 20% of evangelicals and Scott who gets 7%.”
