President Donald J. Trump returns to South Carolina today to highlight a proven record of results that put workers, families, seniors, and communities first. Under President Trump and Republican leadership, South Carolinians are seeing historic tax relief, surging private investment and job creation, stronger rural healthcare, and major investments in infrastructure, military readiness, and public safety.

Delivering Tax Relief for Hardworking South Carolinians

President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts are putting real money back in the pockets of Palmetto State workers, families, and seniors.

• No Tax on Social Security: Approximately one million South Carolina seniors benefit from the new senior deduction, with the average senior expected to pay zero federal taxes on Social Security benefits.
• Bigger Refunds: South Carolina taxpayers saw average refunds of $3,476 in 2026.
• Protecting Jobs and Wages: The Working Families Tax Cuts safeguarded 86,000 South Carolina jobs, $15 billion in state GDP, and $8 billion in workers’ wages.
• Opportunity Zones: In September 2026, Gov. Henry McMaster submitted South Carolina’s new Opportunity Zone nominations to the Treasury, made possible by the permanent extension of the program — unlocking new private capital and economic opportunity for communities statewide.

Strengthening Rural Healthcare Access

President Trump is delivering targeted resources to expand access and modernize care in South Carolina’s rural communities.

• Rural Health Transformation: South Carolina secured $200 million in first-year funding through the Working Families Tax Cuts’ Rural Health Transformation Program.
• Modernizing Care Delivery: In September, the state awarded $167.3 million in Rural Health Transformation Program grants to 228 rural providers for primary care, maternal care, pediatrics, and behavioral health — removing barriers and building long-term capacity through facility modernization, technology upgrades, and workforce development.

Unleashing Private Investment and Job Creation

President Trump’s pro-growth, America First agenda is driving major private investment and high-quality job creation throughout the Palmetto State.

• NorthMark Strategies is committing $2.8 billion to build a high-performance computing center in Spartanburg.

Investing in South Carolina Communities

• Modernizing Military Installations: The FY 2027 NDAA authorized $161.7 million for a nuclear power training facility expansion at Joint Base Charleston and extended funding totaling $166.7 million for new recruit barracks at Parris Island.
• Delivering Disaster Recovery: In October 2026, President Trump approved South Carolina’s request to raise the federal share of Hurricane Helene Public Assistance recovery costs from 75% to 90%.
• Supporting HBCUs: In September 2026, the Trump Administration awarded nearly $10 million to eight South Carolina HBCUs, led by $2.4 million to South Carolina State.

Making South Carolina Safe Again

President Trump and Republicans are delivering results that reduce crime and restore safety for South Carolina families.

• Violent crime fell 11% and property crime fell 14% last year, including sharp drops in murders (17%), robberies (19%), aggravated assaults (9%), and burglaries (15%).
• In Charleston, overall crime plunged 36% in 2025, with homicides down 29%, aggravated assaults down 16%, robberies down 24%, and sex offenses down 39% from the five-year average.
• At least 72 law enforcement agencies, including the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, have signed 287(g) agreements with ICE to identify, detain, and remove violent illegal alien criminals from the state.

President Trump and Republicans are delivering lower taxes, major private investment, stronger rural healthcare, critical infrastructure, and safer communities. South Carolinians face a clear choice: continue this progress, or return to the higher taxes, open borders, and failed policies of the past.
