Tesla has added a new wheel path visualization while parking in the newest Full Self-Driving update, version 12.5.2.
Wheel path visualization is a handy feature for backing into or out of a parking spot, helping show drivers where the vehicle will travel in relation to the steering wheel.
This feature is already present in the Cybertruck. During my demo drive of the pickup in August, I noticed it was a huge asset for backing into tight parking spots.
It also helps you get a feel for how the steer-by-wire system works, which can be challenging at first — especially going in reverse for the first time.
Tesla is now running this feature on all of its vehicles, according to Not a Tesla App. We can see the feature in action on a Model Y running on Hardware 4, 2024.27.5 with the new FSD v12.5.2 below:
Looks like Cybertruck wasn’t the only vehicle to get the new guide visuals with park assist. Much better than the lines! pic.twitter.com/tF9ZsWCcWy

The new feature should be a major help to those who have trouble backing into a spot or even parallel parking, which can be a challenge for some.
Despite the feature only being available on the Cybertruck initially, it seems it was enough of a safety benefit for Tesla to justify it on its other vehicles.
Anything that makes the driving experience easier not only increases safety but also driver confidence.
